Too rich

Have an 89 yj 2.5 with throttle body injection. My injector is dumping way too much fuel into the intake manifold, so much that it's pooling in there. Obviously the jeep won't start this rich. If I unplug the injector it will start and run until all the fuel in the manifold is gone. Do I need a new injector or is something else the problem here?
