tranny problem

well its a 94 yj with the T5 tranny in it. my son came home tonight and said that it had a bad vibration. so i go out to check it out crawl under to take a look and tranny fluid every where.looks like it is leaking between tranny and transfer case. does any one have any thoughts of what to do or is the tranny screwed.

Depends, but you will need to tear it apart either way.

With the leak between the two, the seal is bad at a minimum. Now the question comes to mind, why did the seal go bad?

Age
rear bearing
transfer case bearing

How many miles are on the Jeep, or specifically the trans?

The vibration could be because of the tranny, or it may be something else, so figuring that part out will be required.

Yeah, sounds like it needs to be dropped then and find the problem. You may get lucky ish and find the throwout bearing or clutch problem and just need to replace the seal between the transfer case and tranny.
