Tranny question

Was wondering if there is a tranny vent to help with cooling down the tranny unit. I've noticed that the body metal directly above the transmission, inside the jeep gets really hot when in use. I've checked the fluids and it's full. Was wondering if there is some kind of cooling element to the transmission, or if the flooring above the transmission getting hot was normal for someone without carpeting.

Thanks in advance

Am I the only one that thought this might not be about a transmission?

Exhaust heat is probably the cause. Especially if you're going carpetless. If you're handy and the heat really bothers you then find some aluminum heat shields off of a late model car (junk yard, CL, etc) and mount them under the tub wherever the heat is.

I figured I would do something like that, just was wondering if anyone else out there in jeep land has this same issue or I am just the lucky one.
