Trans prob

Hey everyone. I've been trying to sell my jeep to this guy who seems very interested he came to my house and test drove it, but didn't liked the way it shifted. I have a 1988 jeep wrangler 4.2 mated with an ax-15 tranny. I always heard the tranny was better than the ba but it has tranny a hard time down shifting, third to second, second to first. The guy went home to think about it and then called me saying hes interested but doesn't have the money to fix the tranny, and asked if I had some ideas. My question is what are some things I can say to him to convince him that he doesn't need to change the tranny, and also my clutch is brand new and even on the old clutch it had problems down shifting any ideas as to why, I always heard it was because the gears aren't synced.

Maybe he tried to downshift at too high of a speed. For example- it will be easier to shift the tranny from 3rd into 2nd going 15mph than it will be going 25 mph. He might be used to driving a car instead of a jeep, and might not have changed his driving style, since your jeep is probably geared lower than what hes used to. Is there actually a problem with your tranny or does he just not like the way it shifts?

The jeep is geared lower, trans doesn't have any problems, and the jeep is hard to drive because different than anything. I'll tell him to try shifting at lower speeds.
