trans shop called me back

so appearently i have the worst po ever. i thought i had broken my transmissions connection with the tcase (sorry im not knowledgeable on trannys) from underneath i could see that the 2 did not line up. had it towed to the tranny shop and they called me back today. appearently when he did the 5 speed tranny swap he didnt bother checking to see if it fit the tcase (it didnt) it worked but left a 2" hole and drained all the tranny fluid. on top of all that he installed a new clutch wrong and tore it up. so now i have to pick up a new transfer case and clutch.....thnx asshole!!!

Lol that.. Sucks! I feel your pain! My transmission was hanging by 2 bolts when i picked it up. No care from the PO. It went out about 2 months after i bought it. Rebuilt for 500$ now it's starting to go again already.. Leaking like a pig! So I'm going to be putting in a TH350.

the tranny worked fine and drove fine the few times i drove it. glad the ebrake sucked otherwise i would have never crawled underneath it and seen this problem. kinda wish i knew what tranny was in it so i could find a cheap tcase instead of buying one for a grand from the shop

The external slave cylinder swap is a good idea, but its a costly one, unless you have a junk yard close by so that you can get the parts from a donor vehicle. You basically need everything new in the bell housing area. The line down from the clutch master cylinder is different, so is the bell housing, the slave cylinder, then you also need a throwout bearing and a new clutch fork, and as long as you got it apart, the only part that you don't have to change is the clutch, but you might as well because the tranny is out and its right there. I did the swap on mine, and with me doing all the labor, i had approx. $1200 into it, and i got the bell housing from a junk yard. Everything else i went with new parts.
