Will this transfer case work in my 90 jeep wrangler 4x4 with straight 6, 5 speed? This guy said it would but im not to sure. Im kinda new to this jeep stuff. I found this off craigslist. i was told it has to be a 23 spline but who knows. And also what driveshaft for the rear? Thanks
88 Jeep Comanche 4.0 renix, 5 speed BA10 trans(needs bearings), NP231 transfer case with fairly low miles. I dont know the engine mileage, but no knocks or ticks these 4.0's will run forever. The entire engine package runs great and it very reliable, I drive nearly 100 miles a day without missing a beat. It's been cleaned and painted recently, new gaskets, newer injectors, tuned up, K&N air filter, new alternator I havent even installed yet, new crank sensor, polished valve cover. All accessories, intake exhaust, engine wiring harness, mounts, basically everything. This would be a perfect 4cyl swap or mud buggy engine, its a complete running system. $500
As said before, the 5 speed BA10 transmission is bad, but the np231 case mounted to it works perfectly.
I also have a spare t-case, both are 21 spline NP231 units in good shape. $150 each
Also for sale I have an 87 Cherokee automatic trans in good shape, and most parts needed to use the auto on the stick engine(missing the wiring between the TCU and transmission harness) $100
A well worn, but seasoned, auto engine that could be rebuilt $100
everything all delivered within 50 miles of downtown sarasota for $1000, further for a bit more.
