Transfer Case Leak Repair?

While removing my nerf bars today, I noticed that my transfer case and rear seal were leaking a little. I want to get this taken care of before it becomes an issue and don't have the money to take and have it fixed. I dropped all my spare cash on Paramedic school.

I know need to remove the rear retainer and half case and add some RTV. Is there anything I need to look out for? How difficult will this be for an amateur?

Any advice/help is GREATLY appreciated!

Leak is most likely coming from the tc output shaft all you need to do is put a new gasket inside of it. To be honest I haven't met a yj that doesn't have leaks. Leaking transmission fluid out of your tc is not that big of a deal. There is plenty of how to change the gasket on the net just search google. Should only cost you less then five dollars.

It could be leaking in between the transfer case and the transmission. That's were mine leaks. Need to change the tranny output seal. Not a hard job just time consuming that is why mine has been leaking for a year.
