transmission....

How can I find out what kind of transmission my '95 wrangler has without taking it to the dealership or shop need a rebuild kit but don't know if its a AX5 or AX15??

Look at the center support where the two housings bolt together , ax15 iron ax5 aluminum, I hope I remember correctly , also the ax15 come with 4.0l and the ax5 comes with 4 cylinders

Sorry had it backwards ax5 steel plate ax15 aluminum center support

Jeep® Transmissions and Jeep Transmission Parts - Quadratec

2.5L came with AX-4/5 and the 4.0/4.2L came with AX-15. Unless yours has been modified by a PO.
