Transmission Cross Member

The bolts on the passenger side of my transmission crossmember have rotted out. Any easy ways to fix it?

Support the transmission with a bottle jack/jackstand.
Remove the rotted skid plate/cross member
Reinstall a new skid plate/cross member (eBay, wrecking yard, aftermarket, etc)

Getting the 6 bolts out of the skid plate/cross member may be challenging/impossible because of rust. (it's always helpful if you put your location in your profile, as things like rust can be inferred from your location)

Here's what it looks like. The crossmember isn't rotted but the rail is.

Wow. That is a disaster waiting to happen. When the skid plate drops you will most likely lose the radiator, fan, tcase, rear diff, rear driveshaft, exhaust and a handful of other things. How bad is the frame rot? More pics?

Luckily it only dropped on one side but I ordered new frame rail pieces to weld in on both sides just on case.

Turns out I need a new crossmember too. Does anyone know if one from a TJ will fit my YJ? I'm just asking in case I can broaden my search. Thanks!
