The AX5 is an automatic transmission, the AX 15 will fit in a 1995. I don't know how long they continued using the AX 15, I'll have to look it up.

Just looked it up, they did use the AX 15 in TJs. An AX 15 won't need any conversions, but I think it might require some modification if it is out of a TJ.

AX5 is a 5 speed manual. If it is an AX5, I would think that it would swap over.

I have a 95 yj (2.5 5speed). I just put in an ax5. The ax15 is used in the 4.0 yj's and requires conversion work to put on a 2.5 as the bell housing and spline count on imput and outputs are different. Check for the id tag, that should tell you if it is an ax5. I did't know they were used that late but if it is an ax5, it will go into your 95 2.5 nicely. Get ready to fight the exhaust pipe and good luck.
