Transmission will not shift into gears.

Was driving home when I down shifted out of 5th. Felt kind of funny when I shifted , I was not able to get it into any gear. turned off the motor and tried to shift into any gear and nothing. Like hitting a brick wall. Any suggestions???

Clutch. How does it feel. Can you shift through gears with the engine off? If in gear with the engine off and you hit the clutch does the jeep roll?

^^X2 also if you have anything weaker than an ax-15, that could be your problem

Only reason I didnt say that is because usually you will lose pressure in the pedal so people know what that is. At least whenever they have failed on me I lose pressure.

I can't put it in any gear what so ever. Tried putting it in gear with the motor off. Rock the jeep back and forth trying to get it to grab a gear but no luck. Pulling the tranny Monday so we will see all that is wrong. Thanks for the help and suggestions. this site rocks

If you have a 92 Islander then I am assuming you have a 6 with an AX15? I dont think the islanders came with 4. If you have an AX15 when was the last time you changed your fluids? Do you wheel it, have you beat on it at all lately?

Omix ADA 18887 36 AX15 Manual Trans Fifth Speed Gear | eBay

There is one. I saw a crown one for less, but I would not put any crown parts in my transmission.
