Exclamation trouble shifting transfer case

I can't seem to shift my transfer case into anything but 4 Hi. Is there a specific way to shift it into N or 4 Lo. Do I just need to clean and lube the linkages? I was at a dead stop when I tried. I got it into 4 Lo once but it was very hard and I didn't want to put add stress on it again if I was not shifting it correctly. I know this seems like a no-brainer but I need some help. It is pretty cold outside and dark now so I have not really looked at it yet or ever really. No body or suspension lift on the vehicle.

You can shift into 4 hi while moving by pulling it straight back and then at a dead stop you move the shifter to the right and then back a notch. you might have to move forward a bit while your pulling the shifter back into low.

Alright I managed to get it into 4 Lo not sure if it wasn't really used before but it took a little bit to get it to slide over and back. I will probally check it out underneath and spray up the linkages anyways. Does anyone know the gear ratio in 4 Hi and 4 Lo.

Nevermind I think I found the answer 2.72:1 4lo and I would assume 1:1 4hi.

When using 4lo starting in 1st gear can you just let the clutch out without giving it gas?

Nice! I wish I knew that. I attempted to pull out my first stuck vehicle and couldn't a few weeks ago. This is my first jeep, first 4wd vehicle, and first manual transmission. All of which didn't help me while trying to pull out the stuck vehicle. I don't think I knew the vehicle enough to do any good. Hey do you happen to know how to figure out crawl ratio?
