Turn Signal Stalk Broke!

So I hopped into my Wrangler and I went in weird and my knee ended up smashing the turn signal controll and snapping it off. The plastic stake is completely off, my lights are stuck on high beam, and the actual mechanism inside needs to be replaced obviously as well.

Does anybody know where I can go to source a new/used turn signal stalk/interior controller. Its an 89 Wrangler with tilt steering. Ive been to some local junk yards but no dice..

thanks

i did the same thing to mine. i got one out of a cherokee, i think you can get them out of some chevy trucks too. if they look the same, they probley are. they just pull straight out. As far as getting the old broken peice out you have to take the sterring wheel off and the horn stuff and get in there with some thing small and push it from the back side, its a pain in the ass.

There is a special tool for getting the snap ring off & back on, as there's a spring behind that plate. I do it with small flathead screwdrivers & 7LN vise grips, but it's a PITA!

man all that is too complicated you dont even have to take the steering wheel off. I just took the smallest drill bit I could find and drilled into it very slowly with out putting too much pressure about a 1/4" then i backed out the drill bit and drove a drywall screw into it and grabbed on to the screw with vice grips
and pulled the broken piece out
