U joint

so i just replaced my u joint and i was wondering how important are the retaining clips. i cant seem to get them to go in can anyone shed some light on this situation thanks

They need to be in there to keep the cap from coming out. Use some needle nose or a snap ring pliers.

ok i already have one set in i still need the other set where it goes into the yoke. thanks for the reply
