vacuum removal

Just curious if anyone can tell me whether or not I can get rid of all of the vacuum crap under the hood. Want to go simple when I replace the old 6 cyl(221,000 miles) with a new one. I will be going to electronic ignition and a better carb and don't want all the excess junk.

Some if not all of it is junk. Electric ignition probably did away with half of it?
