Well mine came with a nice cork gasket that is required cuz its extra thick (i dont know Im following instructions) so I was trying to find a way to hold that in place while I put it all on
please don't use rtv as a valve cover gasket, not a good idea.
there's yellow stuff called weather strip adhesive, we call it gorilla snot. it is not a sealer, but it can be used very lightly in a few spots to hold the gasket in place to the cover.
Yeah. 3-M heavy duty trim adhesive works great. We used to glue the gaskets on race cars with the stuff. You can get it at most parts stores. Even comes in black now.
