Want to do cowl intake but how to keep rain out?

I am thinking about doing the cowl intake looks cheap and easy. But how do I keep out the rain from the cowl? And getting on the filter?

I am also thinking about doing a hummer style snorkel but do not know where or what kind of filter I would use.

River Raider makes one for the JK. You might be able to call them for your setup. It is the expedition snorkel btw. Hope that helps.
