Water leak problem

Hey, got a 90 yj and water it's leaking in somehow and dripping down from under the dash. But only on the driver and passenger side floor mats. Not in the middle. How do you trace a water leak? Thanks for any suggestions

easiest way is to remove the seat so you can lay on your back and using a flash light to shine up into the dash/firewall area have a friend hose the front of the jeep for a few minutes while you are under there with the flash light..... you will see the source of the intrusion

Check the cowl drain tube it might be clogged up with crap. if you look on the firewall to the left of the motor theres a tube that comes down and has a sort of flap on it, this tube is actually the drain for the cowl and when it gets clogged the water backs up and works its way into the vent then into the cab. what you have to do is open the end of that hose and let all the crap out of it and you should be ok

another thing it could be is that your window cowel is failing. dont fret though, i went to home depot and bought some weather stripping for like 15 bucks versus 40 from quadtra tec. fixed it right up and havent had a problem since.
