Weber 34 dg upgrade

Has anyone had issues with the throttle cable during this upgrade? mine was not long enough to reach the bracket provided, and if when depressing the gas pedal the cable pushes forward, then the carb throttle is backwards? It needs to be pulled back to accelerate?
is there a longer cable or some kind of adapter i need? any help would be great
Thanks
Jeff

Can u include a pic? i had no issues installing mine. on mine the throttle cable still hooks where it used to. there was a linkage with mine to connect that to the new carb. and were you switching from a carter carb?

Weber 34 dg upgrade

i can try and put a pick up, but i think you answered my question.....i thought the brass linkage rod you refer to was only if you had an automatic transmission.....i saw another person install it using the bracket in the kit and reloacting the throttle cable to the bracket, and coming at the throttle arm on the carb from the side which would make it backwards.
i have mine installed like you do, and i think if my throttle cable wasnt broken it would work just fine.
did you make many adjustments to your carb once is was running?
i found i had to turn the choke adjustment quite a bit in, as well as the mixture screw.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate it.....

Weber 34 dg

I have it figured out i just need to get the new cable in...maybe today.
the way the cable works when you step on the gas it pulls the cable, so using the original bracket wont work...i need to use the bracket that came with the kit or it would be backwards...is yours an automatic?
Thanks again
Jeff

Again carb issues

ok so thought i had this thing figured out but i guess not...it ran decent for a while and now runs like garbage again. i stopped driving it because since winter it takes a long time to warm up, and after it is warm, it sputters a lot when i step on the gas.
one thing i noticed is that when i am under the hood and hold the throttle all the way open manually without the engin running, the choke plates are not open? that doesnt seem right?
any suggestions? does your open all the way up when you step on it?
any help or suggestions would be great
it is a 4.2L manuall with Weber 34DGEC an nuttered

Thanks
Jeff

the choke plates should be all the way open once the vehicle is warmed up. that will make it sputter, them being mostly closed when warm. adjust the electric choke to where they are fully open when warm and see if it makes a difference.

(i am going to tell you to look for a holley or a motorcraft though because i used to have that carb and its a piece of junk. and i love weber carbs)
