Weber 34 dgec electric choke problem.

I have adjusted the choke all the way in and out and the fast idle screw, and it hasnt changed a thing.

Ive heard it helps for cold starts by keeping the idle high until its warm..
Well not for me.. it does nothing.

Although when the engine starts the choke "pull out adjustment" screw gets sucked in.

Also the flap on my carb is ALWAYS wide open.

Its hooked up the swicthed 12v for sure ive tested that.

Otherwise i have a great running engine..

My stats...1990 4.2engine weber 34 card, nuttered, team rushed, no fuel pressure regulator.

From what I under stand you to say, the butter fly is open all the time, if it is then the cam that the screw hits is not in position for it to be adjusted.
First you need to adjust the elec. coil so the butter fly just does close when the engine is over night cold. you may need to hold the accl. butter fly at full open while turning the coil cover to the right place, then adjust the speed screw.

Ok i got it working, i had no idea you could rotate the whole thing.. Is 1500 rpm for high idle normal? Our should i go lower? Would it damage the engine when all the oil has drained down.
