Welded nuts on exhaust?

So while attempting to take off my manifold today, I learned the previous owner welded nuts to the bolts that hold the exhaust to the manifold. If I grind the bolt off, is there a way to replace that bolt once I remove the manifold or is it connected to the manifold?

on the 2.5 the studs are pressed into the manifold. You should be able to pound them out and then replace with OE or something else.

It's the 4.2. I could be wrong, but I believe the 2.5 has just the bolt holding it where the 4.2 and 4.0 have the nuts that retain the manifold to the exhaust. I just don't know if the thread on the bolt is connected to the manifold or if they are seperated. I think I explained that crappy, but sounds good in my head.

I think they are studs that tread into the manifold, at least mine are, but may not all be the same.
