I weld all of mine on the rear Dana 35 but not the front. I have done it for people that had the "posi-lock" so they could move the fork over to "un-lock" the front, but it doesn't work as good as an open diff on the street. I would get a Lockrite in the front. They are easy to install.
Welding the rear is not good for a heavy-footed driver in turns. Especially on gravel roads, and loose dirt.
Some drive without a swaybar to me that is unsafe, and the welded rear is fine to me, but to each their own.
BTW I always use 6011 rods as (contrary to what others say) they burn in better, and have never had anything break loose
