What do you think about napa brakes?

I have a 93 4.0 and need to change my front pads and rotors. Why do you think about napa brakes, or should I go a different route???

brakes

I am a fan of Autozone you get a lifetime warranty that covers normal wear so that is hard to beat in my opinion. And they have ceramic pads

As long as you get ceramic brake pads you should be ok. Dont get to hung up on brands, they are all pretty competitive. Just dont buy em off ebay

I like NAPA parts because they stand behind their stuff. The quality has been good. They typically don't sell cheap junk. I can't say that for autozone and advanced.

I get Napa almost always. I get a good discount and know all the guys at the local Napa. Most of them have been there 20 years or more.

They tend to have more parts in stock too.

Parts that they have had on the shelf:

Yj tail pipe
Yj radiator
Yj clutch master/slave kit
They even had all the parts for my budget off-road lights on the shelf.

I replaced my clutch and got a kit from NAPA. It looked better than the one on there. When I got a used transmission I got a good clutch with it. But it looked like junk compared to the NAPA clutch. The NAPA clutch kit might have been slightly more expensive than auto zone or advanced but the quality was decent. The clutch on the jeep acts great, no grabbing, just a smooth operating clutch.

It is not just where the parts are manufactured. It has to to with the general business philosophy of the company. They buy parts that last and stand behind their warranties.

I will typically also buy electronics and appliances from my local Costco. I'll even pay slightly more for whatever I'm purchasing from them. Why? Because of their return policy. Whenever I have been dissatisfied with a purchase and have returned it, they have a return policy where they ask why I am returning it and that is only because they need to determine if they have to ship it back to the company. They have never refused a return from me. When you build a reputation like that, it is called good will. That goes a long way to keeping customers and drawing in new customers via word of mouth.

NAPPA, I believe, is just such a company.

Good return policy and good parts. Period.
