what is this?

I am thinking it is the pcv shutoff solenoid am I correct? I just want to make sure I don't need it or if I do I will be replacing it. It connects to the pcv valve before going to the carb.

Thanks

It is part of the anti smog system on the 4.2L. It isn't needed unless you have to test for smog or emissions testing. But it isn't required for the motor to run properly.

PCV shutoff solenoid - the subject of a smog related factory recall years ago. Not needed anymore.

Replace it with a straight through hose.
