Hello I was doing a tune up today, and I found a lose cable, do you know what it is? Or where does it connect to?

No mine just sits there right by the battery. Hangs out for next rainy day.

It doesn't go anywhere, that's just how it is.

LOL

I'm pretty sure that is the vent, and filter, for the front axle disconnect shift motor. It does just hang there.

It must be a good kind of gay though..... vents keep the water out of your oily spaces on the jeep. They put them up high so that you can do things like ford through water and not have to change out the oil in the oily spaces after water gets in. Very useful....and a gay thing....if by gay you mean happy.

Does it have to point up or down? Does it matter?

Where the air comes into it will sort of say how it should be oriented. If it looks like an umbrella, make sure the umbrella is up.

Totally necessary. Just strap it vertical in a safe spot. If not long enough for desired location hit up Napa or VatoZone and get a barbed coupling and some1/4" vacuum hose. Or is it 5/16"....
