ID:	835825 so I'm trying to install this bumper on my 94'. Problem is the hitch tube sticks out past the back side of the bumper. Causing the bumper to not sit flush on the jeep. Do I section the rear cross member ( bumper mount ) or do I grind down the tube flush to the bumper it self.

Bummer. Can you space the bumper out a little? If you ground the tube down would you compromise the strength of the hitch? If the strength is not compromised I would grind the tube rather then cut my jeep.

I think I will grind the tube down but not get into the weld. Ya I really don't want to cut the jeep or weaken anything.

sounds like your rear crossmember is bent outward, the same bumper fit my 95 with no issues.

Shouldn't the hitch tube be below the frame crossmember? I have a differant bumper but my hitch tube does not contact the rear. Check your mounting, there have been plenty of these bumpers installed and this is the first problem of this sort I have seen.

If you look at Jeepgirl's pic, you can see that it's installed correctly, so, unless your bumper has extra steel on the receiver tube, it should clear the rear crossmember and be down by the gas tank skid with plenty of clearance.
