where to get replacement hub bolts

I'm doing a complete brake job on my 88. Pads, discs, calipers, hoses, etc. I noticed that the center hub bolt (the one you torque down, back off and then slide the cotter pin through)is looking in bad shape. The cotter pin actually turned to dust in my hand. Where can I get replacements. Retail auto stores don't seem tohave them.

Are you talking about the axle nut?? In the very center of the wheel? How about an industrial supply house, take one with you for comparision.

Autozone has them just received mine. You can get the nuts in a box of 5, cotter pin retainers and washers. Cost a few but well worth it. Or go to Fastenall or a good hardware store.

Thanks. I'll check Autozone out. Strange to sell them in a box of 5 though.

That's Modern Marketing, Sometimes we have to by a package of many for the one or two items needed. I also used Autozone.
