I have a 95 jeep wrangler and just yesterday it started making a weird noise when the gas pedal is pushed in to a certain point If I push it pas the point its stops but when I left off the gas to the point it makes the noise again has nothing to do with RPM only happens when im driving thought not when at idle so I cant look under the hood and see what is going on any ideas?

Do you have a TB spacer? Mine does this exact noise because of my TH spacer. If you are not sure take a good pick of the TB with the filter hose disconnected for clarity and post it.

When you let the engine slow you down, or keep the jeep in gear and let off the gas it seems to make a slight sound (much like the one you are describing) come from the rear diff. (I think)

Mine has done this forever, maybe yours is doing the same thing? Does it make the sound when you are in neutral? I notice it mostly when in 4th gear when letting the engine slow me down. Like driving down a pass, you don't want to ride your brakes, so you keep it in 4th gear and let off the gas to let the engine slow you down a bit, that's when I hear the slight howling noise, but if I push in the gas pedal even just a little bit it'll stop. If yours is the same I don't think you have anything to worry about.

just my $0.02

Weird noise can mean anything. Where does the noise seem to originate from? The engine compartment, underneath, rear? Also describe the noise in detail and what RPMs you encounter the noise at. I know you mentioned it has nothing to do with the RPMs, but it is still good to know.

Also what kind of engine do you have and is it auto/stick?

**EDIT** just noticed the sound description, ignore that part
