will not start

Hello everyone. New jeep owner. I have a 94 wrangler with 2.5L. It has been running fine. Now it will not start. When I turn the key the dash light indicaters come on but it will not crank, try to turn over its just dead. I check the battery and ot looks fine. Could it be the ignition coil??

Maybe check your starter or the battery leads for corrosion.

I would definitely start with checking your battery 100%. How old is it? If its several years old, then I would just go ahead and replace it. Down here in Florida, after about 2 years your battery is toast. I think Jeeps just run hotter under the hood and that degrades the battery faster.

You said it "looks" good, but you cant tell if it has a bad cell or can even hold a charge just by looking at it. Dirty terminals can definitely cause your electrical system to act funny, but you can clean them real easy with some baking soda and water.

hope that helps........

Check your alternator also, make sure your charging your battery. I second that checking your starter. My experience with ignition coil, it will crank, but wouldn't get spark to fire up.

The battery is where I would start as well. Pull the battery cables and clean both the battery posts and inside the connection points on the cable ends.

06 Rubi with some sort of double ended, chrome knobbed, cross threaded, infinitely adjustable, frequently breakable, worn out flammywhammers zip tied onto it.
It used to be a jeep thing... til that sh!t broke!
