windshield seal..

ok so another really quick question, the seal between the windshield frame and body is leaking, ordered a new one but i have one question, do i need some sort of epoxy and if so what kind and i hope they have it at the parts store because we are due for some more rain this afternoon and dont feel like installing a new cdplayer...again

I don't know, but if I were to attempt such a procedure, I would call a local glass shop, and ask them what to do........but that is just me.

no not the glass seal, its the seal where the windshield FRAME meets the body, like the seal inbetween the hinges

Unless you have a lot of rust or other damage there, I've never needed a sealant. Are you sure it's the seal leaking and not overflow from a clogged cowl vent?

the seal is crumbling off but that is something i never thought of thanks man

UPDATE::just ran outside to check, yeh it was plugged and yeah it was plugged BAD, like 3 inches of the tube was plugged, thanks for the advice i woulda never known.

Its called a cowl seal.

I remember reading once to lay a bead of silicone on the side that tucks under the fram when installed.

I cannot remember where I read it and do not know if its correct info!

I am new to the site and have a question. I have a leak that soaks the carpet. I don't want to install the new carpet until I contain the leak. It doesn't appear to be at the windshield. Any thoughts on where to look? It appears there is some rust on the tranny hump as if it's crumbling...(?)
