Windshield wipers won't move, motor works

I just bought an '87 YJ and am trying to fix the wipers for inspection. I can't move the wipers by hand and have checked the motor and it works fine. Matter of fact, it gets really hot because it's trying to move the wiper mechanism and it won't budge. Any ideas on why the two wiper pieces won't spin? Thanks!

Most likely the arms are seized. Can try squirting some lithium grease into the linkage arms but I bet chances are your going to have to fold your windshield down to get to any other linkage connected to the whiper motor. If your drop your windshield your probably going to want to buy a new windshield gasket, they are usually toast after almost 30 years.
