Wiper arms, I think?

So today I noticed that my wiper blades are kind of just "rubbing" the windshield and not really pushing on it at all. So basically it just leaves streaks of water, I hopped out and pushed down on the hinged-ish area and they work the way they should but after 15mins it was back to what it was before. So is there a way to tighten them? The blades are fine themselves it just looks as if they are not pushed up onto the windshield enough causing them to streak. Please help!

Thanks,
-Ryan

I've read somewhere on here about a product called Wiper Snuggies or something like that, they are supposed to keep your wipers flat against the windshield. I will try to go back and search for the post. If I find it I will send you the link.

Hmm that is a possibility. But I'm wondering after time can the arms just loosen themselves? When you push on the mounting point of the arms they pushed back allowing the wipers to do what they are made for... Is there a bolt of something you can tighten? I would think so because how would the arms attach then? Maybe?

why not just buy a new set of wiper arms? yours are 15 yrs old. and while you're at it get new blades 1" longer than stock.

Could possible do that, but if there is nothing wrong with them other then them possibly being loose it wouldn't fix the problem.

they're loose because the springs are worn out and lost their tension. new ones are the only real answer. walmart, shucks.auto zone.
