Exclamation Wrangler fuel pump not running on start

My 1990 2.5L wrangler fuel pump won't come on when I turn the key. The fuel gauge pegs to full also. Sometimes when the key is turned the fuel gauge does not peg and you can hear the pump coming on. The Jeep starts fine and then the gauge pegs and the engine dies. I have already changed the pump and filter and two relays located on the passenger side wheel well which seemed to work for a couple of days. I have read other posts that seem similar but have not seen any resolutions. I have searched for a fuel pump relay on the 1990 model but have not located one. I have wiggled as many wires and harnesses as I can find. When I replaced the pump I did not replace the gauge sending unit. The other symptom is that just prior to this problem the Jeep would sometimes stall when coming to a stop. Not sure if it is related. Thanks for any help.

check for fuel pressure, borrow a tester or buy one, or go to a garage and get them to do it. check for fuel psi, then make sure both relays are in good shape, just cause they work once or twice doesn't mean anything, when they go bad they can be intermittent. so get some new ones. as for the gauge and sending unit they shoulnd't effect fuel pressure, check your fuel filter also, located under your body on the driverside frame rail, towards the rear axle

Similar issue

I have a 90 wrangler, and It does not want to start when its cold. It turns over, pump sometimes does not come on. When I bypassed the fuel pump to bring on constantly, It still did not start. Turns over but no start.
I took apart the Ecu unit to see if its ok. All looks good, Harness ok and plug on ECU ok. I am changing the relays tomorrow to see if that does it. They seem to work, But I will change. Cleaned the relay harness and still no luck.
