Guys just a simple question! When I turned the key in the wrangler it used to
sometimes just click but not start but after the second time it would start fine but today at work it just does the clicking over sound repeatedly and won't start... That's simply the starter right? What else could it be?
yea get a new batterie, just stop by autozone and they will do a free check on the starting system and charging system

turn on your headlights and crank it. if they go out/dim alot when its clicking and not starting, look for battery or connections.....if the lights dont dim and it clicks, start looking at the starter. not failsafe, but enough to point you in the right direction.

my old 89 yj had a clutch with the saftey where you had to push it in and after a while the switch wore out and I would have to mess around with it to get the jeep started. This is if the starter and battery are ok maybe the cluch swith is sticking or something
Well I push started it and it ran perfectly, so I'm sure the battery is fine. I'll figure it out tomorrow morning before work hopefully.
Having it run after Push starting does not mean the battery is good....your running off of the alternator. Put a meter on the battery and see what the voltage is. It should be around 12.8 with nothing running if it's fully charged...between about 13.5 14.5 with the engine running.
You may have just enough current to click the solenoid but not turn it over.
