Xfer Case rebuild or not...

I am having the tranny (automatic) rebuilt, and the shop says that my xfer case had no metal, and seems solid, and recommend not splitting the case for a look-see or rebuild if it has no symptoms.

Should I push to have it opened up, or leave it alone?

I am 99.9% certain this Jeep was never or almost never wheeled....it is too clean underneath and stock....

Thoughts?

139K miles on it....

(I am leaning toward not touching it, I mean, where do you stop?)

I would say that if there was no metal in the fluid and you can't hear any noise coming from it then the chain probably isn't stretched and the gears are good inside. However if you start wheeling it a lot with that many miles then I would service it more often that a newer setup.
