you will need to take to a transmission shop, look for one that is a A.T.R.A member. it wont be shift linkage, and if the fluid is red and doesnt stink then thats a good sign, when it "neutrals out" if its clutches it should generate heat and eventually change the color of the fluid. my guess is its inside the trans, since you caught it early it might just be a lip seal and no "hard parts" which will save you money. but a good shop should be able to drive it and tell you whats going on, most wont charge you. they might want to drop the pan which is ok, if they show you the pan there will be a round magnet with "fuzzy" fine metal on it, this is normal but large pieces that you can pick up (metal/or plastic) is not. i love these trannys and they are a great unit, how many miles is on the jeep..
