YJ - Couple of questions about my hard top.

I recently purchased a used hard top for my 94 YJ. I believe the top I got came off an 89, but that that really doesn't matter for my questions.

There are no cracks on the hard top, and for the most part it is in pretty good shape. However it is in desperate need to be painted. I was just curious as to what everyone else has used to paint their top? It is a black top, and I just want to re-paint it black. Is just using spray paint the best way to go, or should I use something else?

My other question is in regards to the back window. Aparently it had broke, and the previous owner used plexi-glass to replace it. Normally I would be ok with it, but I think they way they did it was tacky. I want to get glass to put back on the top instead of using the plexi that they put on. The problem is the only place I have been able to find that has the glass is on ebay and it is for a top with a back windshield whiper. Is it best to get this glass and just plug the hole, or does anyone know any other places I can find the replacement glass?

Thanks!

Had a black "94 and the inside of the hard top was white. I repainted it with regular spray paint although I did use a name brand only problem I had was the smell. allow a couple days to "air out". I don't think I would cheap out on an off brand paint what will you save 3or 4 bucks? I think I used two cans as I went to black interior.

Sorry no help for glass-have you checked jeep junk yards? local or nationwide?

You might be able to find glass at Davey's Jeeps. LINK. As for the paint, use a quality paint as 2611 said, several people have had success with spray paint. Just remember it's not supposed to be gloss, and do the proper prep work, don't just spray it on.

I'm one of those who have had success spray painting my hard top... Prep work is key as Ageless Stranger said. I even removed those seals on the side & replaced those with new ones. here is the link: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f19/wha...tml#post778946

I can't help on the back glass.

not sure if our vendors on here carry the rear glass or not.. I know I went to replace mine, but never did.. I think tellico4x4.com had if for $140ish for the basic glass no defrost.
