YJ crank position sensor

Have '91 YJ, building for 2 yrs. and drive most days. Other day it turned over but won't start. Distributor cap, rotor and wires are new. I tested coil and it was fine. Mechanic tested and replaced crankshaft position sensor, but now it won't start unless gas pedal is pushed to floor board. Never in 2 yrs have I touched the gas pedal when starting the jeep. Why now is this required for it to start? I thought fuel injected engines, you should never touch the gas pedal and now I have too.

Yea, you have a TPS. Think it's a requirement on any gasoline engine.
As posted earlier, it will be screwed into the throttle body on the driver's side facing the firewall. There's a 3 wire plug that goes into it.
If you have a multimeter you could test yours, but they aren't expensive to replace and they can go bad.
