YJ Frame Repair

Has anyone tried these frame repair items I found on ebay?

I really like the one piece design, if I were to make one it would prodably have to be a three piece welded repair.

I dont have access to a metal break that could bend it sheet metal? What do you think?

Not saying anything bad about the manufacturer-I don't know them-but after you pay for them, tax, and shipping-would it be worth going to a welding shop and see what they can do? Or are you doing this yourself? We have a large welding shop in town, they work on big rigs, whatever-not a one bay operation-but they will still bend, cut, shape, weld anything you can bring to them. They just don't do the 'install'. They have the big metal brakes to bend the heavy stock.
If you are going to install it yourself but can't fabricate it-see what a local shop can do for you.
My suggestion and 2˘ worth...

I haven't used them but at $200 a side that looks kinda pricey. It might be worth it if you can weld them yourself, though.

I had a local shop burn out the old nutserts and weld 1/8" flat bar to the frame rails with nuts tacked on the back side. He also plated my rear crossmember and both rear frame rails (3 sides each) plus a couple of other little things for $425.

It's 200 for both.

I was your guinea pig!...LOL. I bought the same ones for my '87 and used them. they work well. I spot welded the nuts into the insides of the holes, and also made a set of weldable hockey pucs for my drop down trans case and welded those on too. the steel is good quality, and i believe its 3/16. or there about. I know its a guage instead of a fraction number, but its heavier than 1/8 and lighter than 1/4 hows that?...LOL.
