YJ Gauge issue

Hey gang, got a question about my 95 YJ. I had the gauge cluster out a few days ago, reinstalled and noticed that at times my voltmeter and tach are both reading very low.....they will then start working. When it happens, both of them read wrong. I am thinking a ground issue however I have checked the plugs to both and they are good and all other gauges work as they should. Im a little lost on this one....I would think if its ground, I would lose everything and the same if the connectors were loose... anyone know what the common theme would be between a volt meter and a tach??

Thanks!! Todd

If you have 12+ volts to the gauges I would probably guess the tach has a short somewhere down the line..Have you check with a volt meter? What voltages are you getting? Are the connections clean?
