YJ Hardtop Question

I have a 95 YJ and I want to buy a hard top from a local guy on craigslist. I went out to look at the top and it was in pretty good condition EXCEPT for the back hatch part. Below the glass is extremely rusty. I want to buy the top and then replace the whole back hatch. (The glass is in good condition), but the rest of it is starting to fall apart. My question is: Does anyone know how much it would cost to buy that whole new rear section? I have been scowering the internet and I cannot find any sites that sell the whole back end of the hardtop. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

Can you post some pictures. My understanding is that the early YJ's had a different back glass ( same as a CJ ) I have a top that I just bought and the handle goes though a 4" wide strip of fiberglass at the bottom of the hatch. Pictures of what have would be helpful.

Here is the craigslist item. look at the back section and see all the rust. Also the hinges are in bad shape as well. Any ideas on how much it would cost to replace?

Looks like the rust can be fixed pretty easily. The main thing is that you have the back glass. For less than $400, that is a good deal. I spent several weeks looking for a hardtop for my 95 YJ. I finally found a CJ7 hardtop that was $400. It fits better on the windshield than a normal YJ top. The only thing I had to work around was the back glass latch, since the CJ top must be opened BEFORE the gate. That was an easy fix with the purchase of a swing away tire carrier.

My guess is that is a CJ top on the CL..... may have been mounted on a 90 YJ..... but I bet it came from a CJ... it looks just like the one on my 82 CJ7 which is rusting in all the same spots. My YJ hardtops (have 3 as of now) are all fiberglass in that area.

I agree with bc3, it looks like a CJ top to me. It does not look like my YJ rear glass.
