138,000 on my 92 and it runs like it's brand new. Except of course for the mud hole it's stuck in. Damned rainy season in Eastern NC.

Well you better take advantage of your present living situation while you can! That jeep needs mods... You need to put all your money into this jeep pronto.Dont spend this money on chicks (you'll have plenty once the jeep is done)Before you skip of to college you better post how you have sucessfully changed and upgraded this vehicle.Go buy something for it right now...

It's not quite stock. I baught it with a 3" body lift, I baught some new 33's and the classic baja wheels. I Herculined the interior, got rancho shocks, 3" tube bumpers..which I don't like to much, I had all the rust removed and replaced with fresh metal, repainted, replaced the windshield frame and got new glass.

I'm at the end of my football season, so I'll have a job in a couple of weeks. I plan on gettin' a winch, maybe a suspension lift, I've been lookin' into the digital gauges, I have several problems with the stock ones, maybe new bumpers, some new seats...and loads more that I can't think of right now, or haven't found out about yet.

Thanks man, it'd be twice as nice if I could get a job...football messed that up, but some scholarships are to come for football, so it'll save me money in the long run.. I'll be gettin' a job soon, plan on gettin' some new bumpers sooner than later, need new seats, and hopefully save up enough for a new engine..it'll be a brand new jeep, without the 25k bill. =]

92 YJ, 4.0, 131k miles when I bought it about a month ago, now showing 134k (so much fun, it's even gotten me off the Harley!). No rust, full carpet will be coming out to get the cab line-x'd, bestop top and 1/2 doors, and not-so-great paint, but it's white so you can't tell until you're less than 5 feet away. Everything works, except the shift light that I ...um...removed. Hate that damn thing. '05 stock foglights wired to ignition, square Hella driving lights wired to the highbeam switch, Pioneer stereo, aftermarket soundbar, JBL speakers, and that's it (for now) for mods. Runs like a champ, no issues other than one lifter that tics when it's cold. Dry as a bone underneath. Guy I bought it from put a rear pinion seal in it (woo-hoo).

'89 YJ, 4.2L, auto

188,200 and going strong. No engine mods or major repairs.

A 4.6 stroker with Hesco supercharger in April.

I'll have 200,000 on the odo by then.

Doug, If you haven't already, check out Clifford Performance. They have been building parts for all kinds of I6's for a long time. I know they have a lot of stuff for the old Chevys,Dodges, and of course Jeeps. And hey, welcome to the site. There are a lot of knowledgeble guys here that can help you through your mods.

I just got my own jeep this past June. I drove my parents 2000 Grand Cherokee (136,XXX) for awhile, and got to ride with my cousin in his 94 YJ (130,XXX). I bought a 94 YJ 4 banger with 118,000. Completely stock and owned by someone elderly. It looked like they used it in the winter to get around. No rust or mechanical problems. I changed the fluids and she runs great. It now has 123,XXX miles and gets between 15 and 19 mpg. As far as most miles, my buddy is in the process of restoring, for the first time, his CJ that has 215,XXX.

Post New to Jeeping

My first Jeep - a red '93 2.5L, 5sd, soft top, stock and bare bones - 97k miles. Prior owner used it as a backroads camping vehicle. Runs well. 20mpg on the highway, which I guess is 'normal'. Has a number of broken bits on it, so I will be scouring the web for replacements. Any leads on good sites for things like a RH mirror, radio antenna, fuse block cover (engine comp) would be appreciated.
