The 2002 "X" at the dealership has 76k miles, and some rust on the door handles...whats up with that? I might buy it. It's cool as hell.

Thumbs up Mileage Check

I have a 92 YJ with a 2.5L original engine with 184,000 on it and going strong. I added a 6' Fisher plow to it this year and it pushes great.

Talking

bought '95 in 2002 with 60k on it, have 120k now. all i've had to replace was tires & brake pads and oil pressure sending unit, had new set of plugs in garage for months, i'll install them before turkey season opens. after owning cj-5, commando, wagoneer, mail jeep & cherokee, this yj is a blast. no wonder the kids keep wanting to borrow it.

rocking the 95 with a 4banger kickin right around 150,000miles. however she is currently sidelined with a spidered windshield. Cant beat my 94 f-150 though, 273,000! wouldnt trade anything for the jeep though.

Howdie,

I recently bought a '88 yj wich seems to be pretty stock, only thing modified is the wheels, they are 31 x ?x ? . Can't remember right size ...
I bought it with 177000 km on the odometer, since then my 4wd had to be disconnected, i guess due to vacuum failure ... and I just posted a new thread about some oil spillage on the gasket, and a misterious oil puddle under the jeep after intensly trying to get out of a muddy strip of land loaded with a trailer full of dirt.... Hope this will be about all I have repair , my wife is allready going bananas about the cost of my sweety....

Oh yeah, there are now 179000 km on the odo, and I have it about a month and a half ....

Hope to hear more about the oil problem ey Amerijeep!

Greetz from Belgium y'all,
zorlac

sounds to me like I have entered the best of both worlds. We own a 04 Rubicon, and before Christmas I bought a 89 YJ with nothing under the hood.......no drive line......no nothing. So I mulled it around for awhile, a friend of mine had a brand new Chevy 350 engine, and after doing some research, came upon a Stak monster 3 speed transfer case. Needing to have this all put together, with some integrity, I put PSC Motorsports after the completion of this task. So now I am ending up with a YJ, with a V8, a 3 speed transfer case built in El Paso, TX, and some serious Dana 60 axles to complete the onsom. Put a 8" coilover stretched out long arm suspension under it........and wow.........we have a YJ with the capability of running 42" tires under it.......with major steroids........talk about a YJ with attitude. Loving every minute of this build up. Hope to see some of you out at Moab in a month.

The TJ guys are making us look bad, so get to posting.
My 89 YJ had 137,000 miles. I just put a new motor in this month, so the Jeep has a lot of miles now but the motor only has 3 miles.

Wow, sounds pretty crazy, would love to see it.

Oh, and my 87 YJ has 175k and gets about 14ish, but I think that might get better once I fix some issues, and then worse once I can actually start gettin some cool stuff on it

Cool YJ Mileage

88 YJ here, got 186K mi and change. I get about 16 mpg. Had that vacuum issue, but new check valves solved the problem. A little oil leak, but like they say, if it ain't leakin or smokin then whatever WAS leakin or smokin is gone...

'94 YJ here
4" suspension on 33s
I get about 12 - 16 MPGs but not right now because i just pulled my tranny out to get it rebuilt (its sitting sadly in my garage)
I bought her 2 years ago with 106,000 miles, I don't know how many miles i have now because right after i bought her i threw a fence post into my undercarriage running through a pond on my ranch and it busted my front drive shaft, 4x4 linkage and yanked out the cable for my speedometer (fixed everything except the speedometer - haha)

by the way if you were getting 8 MPGs without a lift on her then something is wrong with your jeep.

'90 YJ 205l 5sp here

I have 169,000 on mine and it is running fine. It is stock--I got it two years ago but my husbands FSJ gets all the money. Mine is the daily driver hauling kids back and forth to all their activities. All of my miles are town driving (for the last 19,000) and I usually get 15mpg.

94 YJ
Purchased with 57,000 six years ago.
Now has 70,000.
I had to replace the O2 sensor and fuel pump. (Also destroyed one xfercase - was not normal wear and tear)
I have also replaced a lot more that was not broken...yet.
