YJ obituary

I regret to inform the forum about the most saddest of news that my 1990 YJ is officially dead. It happened last week on the NY Thruway...the engine went. Had it towed to the nearest shop and felt it wasnt worth any more money or angst to keep her going. The decision was then made to donate her bones to the local fire department for accident extraction exercises. I am a bit sad, somewhat relieved. It is a bittersweet feeling. I am looking to lease a new Jeep because I cant imagine going back to a car. I wish she broke down closer to home because I would have kept her as a project and fun hobby....slowly making her the beast she could have been....all while buying a new one. It woulda been cool to have my old YJ, but I think this was the universes way of telling me i spent too much already...i stressed out too much already. If it wasnt my primary set of wheels things would have been different. I wouldnt have taken the old girl out to the mountains, but i do take solace in knowing she died a true Jeep death....climbing the mountains. RIP girl, and thanks for being there when i needed you most. And thanks to y'all in here for all the advice, help and tips....Sean

A YJ's not dead until you give up!

Someones gonna drop a V8 in that baby and it's gonna pass you and your new Jeep on the road one day lol.

Always sad to see a jeep pass away. My yj just blew its motor. I decided to put a new one in seeing as I've had it just a few months. Good luck finding a new jeep. I understand the attachment to a good ol yj but you'll learn to love again with a JK or tj

After sitting and test driving these new Jeeps, something is amiss. Not that the ride is bad, or the technology isnt much better, but I should have kept her...my 90 YJ. Even just to put her away to fight another day...I regret that I left it there

Someone said, 'regret is a terrible thing.' A reman engine can be had for 1600.00 or less. My 92 has 175k on it and sounds like hammers in a drier but a reman engine is in the future for her.
