yj starts hard!

My yj has started kinda hard since like day one. I was wondering if that's normal. It sounds like the starter struggles to start a little bit and once it fires it sounds like a grinding whooshing sound. Iv shimmed the starter and it didn't make a difference.

Check this out you might beable to figure out what is happening. Or just google shimming a starter and see what else you find.

i had a hard starting problem for a while
things i did and now it's gone:

1 Checked tube for fuel pump to sending unit (was cut)
2 New Ignition Coil (Wasn't Needed)
3 New Wires, Plugs, Cap, rotor (little help)
4 New Starter (shimmed) (didn't help)
5 Crank Position Sensor (Worked like a champ, starts just fine now)

But then again, all of this could have gone into the fixing of my problem
