YJ Temp Gauge Problems

1994 yj 4 Cylinder . My temp gauge was not working .I replaced the temp sensor .The one with the purple and yellow wire going to it .Located on back driver side of the block.Now my gauge peggs out hot when I first start the jeep .What is my problem now and how do i fix it

Either the sensor was bad out of the package, you broke it or your wiring between the gauge and sensor is bad. If it pegs the gauge its a dead short somewhere.
