YJ Valve cover

I replaced the valve cover on my 87 YJ 4.2l and a short time later the gasket pushed out and started leaking, gushing more like it. I heard jeep had a problem with the valve covers any idea how to fix?

don't over tighten either, sometimes thats why they're pushed out, too tight.

the plastic valve covers can get cracked, but i think you're blaming the valve cover when its not your problem, get the right gasket, and torque it down properly. the torque spec is not very much, and you need to go around each bolt about 5 times before its all torqued down correctly. over torqueing is the main cause i see in the shop for gaskets leaking.
