Other than that and the 31" tires, the jeep is completely stock. That's where the problems are coming in. It needs a new transmission, and i think that's because the 360 ate up the stock one. What i need to know is are there and trans. out of something beefier (like a wagoneer) that i can put into it without much modification. Meaning the same bolt holes and same length of the one that's in it. It was origonally a V6 and had the BA10/5
The AX-15, (think 4.0l YJ tranny's, 5 spd manual) will bolt up to the BA10/5. It will be marginal to hold up to the 360's power output. You can also use the same t-case.
If you want to go auto, the Torqueflite727 came stock in the Waggy, but you would have to change the t-case input shaft, as well as shift linkage, etc. I'm assuming you have the NP231 t-case, right?
I'm really confused as to why someone would bolt up that garbage BA tranny to 360???
