YJ are from 1987 to 1995. A 98 would mean its a TJ. TJ seats go farther forwaard when you bring them up to get a passenger in the back. It will hit your windshield. It doesnt hit the TJ's windshield because the TJs windshield frame has depth to it which yours does not. But from what I understand it should bolt on. Just dont throw the seat forward fast and break your windshield.

I think the passenger seat might actually move further forward than 3 inches.

The Rear Seat is definitely too wide. they angled up the wheel wells and raised to set to an extra few inches of width. And also used a completely different mounting system.

I wish they realize to mounts sticking 4 inches out of the floor was a poor decision before the built mine.

i went to the local boneyard and picked up a pair of seats from a 99 sunfire / cavalier for my yj. perfect fit and bolt right in. no modifications necessary. and MUCH more comfortable than the jeep seats.
