Kane creek is a great trail with some challenges, there is a tippy spot near the start that gets me a bit worried but it may have been built up a bit since I was there in October, kind of creeps me out, but I still did it

Okay, dumb question time. The Red Rock 4 wheelers web site states this "the site will be open on January 20, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (midnight) Mountain Standard Time". Please don't laugh to hard, but this is Friday night, right? Not Thursday night?

It should read "12a.m. (midnight)" I'm sure glad I'm not the only one with dyslexia around here. The following is a copy and paste from their web site "12:00 p.m. (midnight)". So now I don't feel quite as dumb.

I can't this year but some of my crew will be there. Rolling from the Tampa Bay Florida area......Can't miss those Florida tags showing up all the way out there.

I'm still new to all this, but that sounds fun as hell, too bad I'm 1800 miles away.

Was planning to make it but had bearings go in my motor then replacement motor was bad so did a complete machining and rebuild on the bearing motor. Whole thing hurt the budget. This was before the roll. Beast is good just more character now. Engine didn't even smoke when we flipped it back over and started it up.

Dam() Budgets!

Just glad you are OK. Moab will be there next year too. Who knows, you may be able to find someone with trailer space.
Take care.

Do you usually start the trail from 191 or do you take Kane Creek out of town? I hear the hard obstacles are at the end of the trail near 191?

Okay I just found this on RR4's Facebook page about an hour ago:

Angela Book just walked in the door from working on registration with the gang it will not be live tonight. It will be live tomorrow at midnight.

Good night I am going to bed.

Hey Brian You are supposed to go one way & start from the Chicken Corner/ Kane creek road in town. We have done it from both directions because we live close to the end, south of town, it comes out just past "Hole n the rock". The trail starts off through the creek, a lot of wet crossings, lots of shrubery to get through & sand trail. Then the trail starts to go up through the rocks & cliffs & gets a little harder with some rocky parts & cliff drop on one side.So yes the harder parts are at the end almost. Here is a couple of video's of the day we did it, it's a very fun trail & knowing what you have already done I am sure you will enjoy it to.

Thanks Julie. It will be fun either way. I am just debating on if it will be hard top or soft top weather at that point. I can handle Jeep scratches, but I do not want soft top window scratches as my white soft top cannot be replaced.

The Sahara editions had an option of both tops and the soft top was completely white. I do not know how many years they did that for, but my soft top is now 11 years old and still works great. The PO I do not believe ever put it on.

Got my Golden Ticket also!
Doing these trails, if open:
Sun - Fins
Monday - Sevenmile
Tuesday - Golden Spike
Wed - Day Off for Wifey's Shopping
Thurs - Hells Revenge
Fri - Porcupine Rim
Sat - Kane Creek Canyon

Whew! I hope my rig holds up and as my first Moab, I hope it's not bitting off too much.

Thoughts? Good trails?

Hey Julie,
I'm all registered, password rceived, etc. i've logged in to the RR4W site but when I try to go to Trails it just says The Site Will Be Available on the 20th. It's 12:30am on the 20th here in San Digo and I was just wondering if i'm doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help,
Steve

One should not type at 12:30am, wow. Was looking at the RR4W site again this morning and maybe I'm reading this wrong. It says 12:00PM MST on the 20th so perhaps that's tonight at midnight?

You'll have fun & be busy for sure. I've done 7-mile (with Julie) & Hells Revenge. Both great trails. Julie will chime in on the others. Hells is one of my favorites for sure.

One of the people working on the web registration said it would not be ready until tonight at midnight. It seems they had some problems.
